Welcome to that awkward time of the year where it's not warm enough to saunter around town in just a shift dress, but also not cold enough for a full on coat.
The solution?
Layers.
But just how do you layer fashionably and appropriately for work?

The one rule of thumb I stick with to avoid looking like a walking sack (save the hobo chic look for the weekend please) is to choose pieces with either (1) a similar color scheme or (2) similar textures or patterns. Here I chose to ground the outfit with a common (and seasonally appropriate) texture - tweed.
For the colder months, simply add tights, swap out the grey crew neck for a cashmere sweater, and heels for boots.
Jacket: Sandro
Button up: Ann Taylor
Tee: Banana Republic
Skirt: Ann Taylor
Bag: MZWallace
Heels: Cole Haan
Super cute. I love the layers + tweed.
