What to wear to your office holiday party

Oof, how is it the end of November already?

The holiday season has managed to creep up on me again and with it means one thing - dressing for holiday parties. I'm sure you've got your go-to cocktail dress for a fancy night out or jewel toned gown for your black tie event, but what about that office holiday party? That has always been a head scratcher for me - how do you amp up your generic 9 to 5 look without going all sparkle crazy and skin tight sleazy?

You've come to the right place, my friend.
And this sparkly pencil skirt is going to be your knight in holiday shining armor.

I've gotten quite a lot of mileage out of this skirt last holiday season (check out this post here) and fully plan on refreshing it this year. The sparkle on this skirt is subtle and when paired with a tweed blazer is perfectly appropriate for work. After hours, simply remove your jacket, replace with a crop top and add a chunky jewel necklace to bring out the blue and green tones in the skirt.  Alternatively, pair with slip on sneakers, a leather vest and some badass shades for a more relaxed look (a low key New Year's Eve count down at a friend's perhaps or a casual Christmas Day brunch).

And there you have it - three looks for the price of one sparkly skirt!
(Pssh, and you thought glittery pencil skirts were only appropriate for mermaid costumes.)

Happy early holidays :) and stayed tuned for part II coming next week!

  1. When you throw your next party remember the best summer holiday party ideas: make it simple, delicious, stylish, fun & economical to all! A great idea for cocktail parties I recently read about in a magazine is to use parchment paper as a luminary wrap around a glass votive candle holder.
