Hidden gems of HK: Chi Lin Nunnery

Having spent pretty much my entire life in Hong Kong, I thought moving back to Hong Kong (after my stint in NYC) would be quite a snore. As someone who loves exploring and trying new things, I thought - what's so fun about moving to a city that you already know inside out?

But boy was I wrong. There's a surprising amount that Hong Kong has to offer that I had really never taken advantage of before.  Aside from the numerous hikes I've been on (which is another blog post), there are temples, colorful markets and a plethora of hidden cafes and speakeasies that have recently popped up. And with that I want to introduce you to my new series, where I will aim to document any gems I've found in Hong Kong.

What to wear: Chinese New Year / Valentine's Day

In anticipation of Chinese New Year, here's a red and gold look I recently wore. Keeping it short and sweet today because the turnip cakes, candied lotus seeds, and fried taro balls are calling my name.

Hope you all have a wonderful, heartwarming, belly stuffing time with your family.
Wishing you all the best in the Year of the Monkey!

PS - For those of you who don't celebrate Chinese New Year - you can just as easily rock this outfit for the upcoming Valentine's Day.  For other vday outfit inspirations, just check out my previous posts here (where I re-styled the same red sweater) and here. Oh and this post here on how to outsource your Valentine's day to the start up world might also be quite handy.
